Phil-Tone ‘Sapphire’ Hard Rubber Tenor Mouthpiece .105″ tip – Used

The Sapphire is inspired by the Blue Note Era of the 1960’s.  It replaces Phil’s previous reworked Links.  It’s design is drawn from the Late Florida Slants and the Early Babbitt pieces.  It’s floor is higher than a modern Link and it’s projection and color is greater.  It can blow dark and smokey with a rich core and has the power to project and cut through in more straight ahead situations.  The Sapphire is never tubby and it is very even through the range of the instrument.  With it’s rich and colorful palate, the Phil-Tone Sapphire fills a space like no other.

These play with more projection and presence than an Otto Link and are very well hand-faced.  Worth every penny spent for a great playing tenor mouthpiece!!

This one is a .105 (Otto Link #7*) tip opening.

Used in excellent condiiton! There is no wear on the bite area due to a mouthpiece patch. The tip and rails show no signs of damage!

No cap or ligature included so we recommend any of the following:

Francois Louis Ultimate or Pure Brass XL

     Vandoren Optimum

Click on the “Ligature Option” if you would like to any of these added to your purchase.
