Meyer Bros. ‘Connoisseur’ New Hard Rubber Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece – Fantastic NEW piece from JJ Babbitt!!

$282.00

This is a copy of the early, vintage Meyer Bros. alto mouthpieces from the late 40’s and early 50’s that sell for a lot of money today.  These pieces play with more depth and warmth than the standard Meyer, the new New York Meyer and the Meyer G.   A great new mouthpiece!!!

Description

The #8 facing played much more easily than I would have expected.  The shank is metal banded and I am guessing they are all medium chambers (not indicated), but the facing length is medium.  The thickness of the rubber  between the table and the interior of the mouthpiece is less on these new pieces than the standard Meyers, although they appear to be using the same blank.
Cannonball Adderley and Sonny Stitt both played the vintage version of this mouthpiece!
These come with a better ligature and plastic mouthpiece cap.  I would expect these would work exceptionally well with a Yanagisawa, Yamaha, Selmer Series III or any brighter sound quality Alto Saxophone!!
