Buescher 400 Vintage Top Hat and Cane Alto #309,332 – Original Lacquer

$2,190.00

This vintage Buescher 400 “Top Hat and Cane” Model from 1946 is so called because of the beautiful Top Hat, Cane and Gloves engraved on the bell, the Castle on a Hill overlooking a lake and the raised silver cursive lettering of “Buescher 400”.

These horns have a larger bell and a seriously heavy, nickel re-inforcing ring under the bell rim.  Johnny Hodges and the Jimmy Lunceford Orchestra were all playing Bueschers in the 40’s as well as many others who were lesser known.

This is one of the great American Made Saxophones!

Description

This alto could use a re-pad, but the pads in the bottom half of the horn can be used for a while longer.  I am selling this one “AS IS, Adjusted” which means for the listed price I will go through it and put in the best adjustment I can considering the age of the pads.  It actually plays well right now, but I can make it a bit better.
If you want more work done or would like it to be re-padded, please let me know when you purchase it and I will do the work that you require for whatever the additional repair cost will be once completed.
There have been some solders and dent work done on the bottom bow area of this alto which you should be able to view in the pictures.
Comes with Gig Bag.
Shipping cost is extra and is dependent on destination.
